Crowns

A dental crown is a cap placed over a damaged or decayed tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. At Blackfalds Smiles, we offer high-quality crowns made from various materials, including porcelain, ceramic, or metal.

Crowns are a versatile and long-lasting solution for a variety of dental issues such as cracked or chipped teeth, severe decay, discolouration, or misshapen teeth. Our team will carefully examine your tooth and determine the best type of crown that suits your needs.

The process of getting a crown typically involves two appointments. During the first appointment, we will prepare your tooth by removing any decay and shaping it to fit the crown. Then, we will take digital impressions of your tooth (which are much more comfortable than traditional impressions) using our 3D intraoral scanner and send them to a lab where your custom crown will be made. In the meantime, you will wear a temporary crown to protect your tooth.

During the second appointment, we will remove the temporary crown and place the custom-made crown over your tooth, making sure it fits perfectly. With proper care and maintenance, a dental crown can last for many years, giving you a strong and natural-looking smile.
